Install Electric Car Charger at Home: The Complete UAE Guide

A home electric car charging point is the single most practical upgrade any UAE EV owner can make. Installing a home electric car charger means waking up every morning to a full battery, charging at a fraction of public station costs, and never re-routing your day around charger availability. Our licensed contractors install electric car chargers for home across all seven emirates, handling every DEWA, ADDC and community approval from start to finish.

We install home ev charging station setups for every major EV and PHEV on UAE roads, from Tesla and BYD to Mercedes EQ, BMW i-Series, Audi e-tron and Nissan Leaf. Every installation uses a dedicated circuit, surge protection and certified cabling, with 7kW and 22kW options matched to your car and your villa supply.

Electric Car Home Charging Station Options: 7kW vs 22kW

7kW Single-Phase Charger

Adds 30 to 50 km of range per hour. Fully charges most EVs overnight on a standard UAE villa supply with no load upgrade. The right choice for the majority of UAE homes and the most common home car charging point we install.

22kW Three-Phase Charger

Adds 100 to 150 km per hour. Requires a three-phase supply, which most UAE villas have. Ideal for high-mileage drivers and models like Tesla, Mercedes EQ and Audi e-tron that support three-phase AC charging.

Not sure which suits your villa? We confirm your supply type and recommend the right charger during the free site survey. See our EV charger installation cost guide for more on what affects the price, or our DEWA approval guide for the compliance picture.

Villa EV Charger Installation Across UAE Communities

We install home electric car charging points in villa and townhouse communities across Dubai and Abu Dhabi, including Arabian Ranches, Dubai Hills, Damac Hills, The Springs, Jumeirah Village Circle, Mirdif, Palm Jumeirah, Yas Island, Saadiyat Island, Al Reef, Khalifa City and Al Reem Island. For the full city picture see our Dubai EV charger installation and Abu Dhabi EV charger installation pages.

Every villa ev charger installation we carry out includes a community NOC application where the developer requires one. We know the requirements for most major UAE communities and prepare the supporting documents so you do not have to chase between the contractor and the community office.

Home EV Charger Installation: Frequently Asked Questions

The best choice depends on your car and your electricity load. For most UAE villas a 7kW single-phase charger is ideal: it fully charges most EVs overnight and rarely needs a load upgrade. If your villa has three-phase supply and you drive long distances, a 22kW unit charges faster. We recommend the right size during the free site survey.

In Dubai, the installation must be carried out by a DEWA-approved contractor. In Abu Dhabi, ADDC load study and approvals apply. Many villa communities also ask for a developer or community NOC. We prepare all documentation as part of every installation.

The physical installation takes 1 to 4 hours for most villas. Including the free site survey, quote and approvals, the full process from enquiry to a working charger is usually complete within the same week.

A 7kW charger adds roughly 30 to 50 km of range per hour, enough to fully charge most EVs overnight on a standard single-phase supply. A 22kW charger adds 100 to 150 km per hour but requires a three-phase supply, which most UAE villas have. We confirm your supply type during the free survey.
